SANT’ANTONIO ABATE

It is celebrated on January 17 with the lighting of large bonfires in every neighborhood of the village; it is possible to taste sausages, bruschette, fried pizza, beans and pork rind, dried chickpeas drink a glass of red wine, and listen to folk songs.

 

COSTANTINOPOLI

On the Pentecost’s Tuesday the picture of the Madonna Santissima di Costantinopoli, one of Biccari’s holy protectors, is carried in a procession through the streets of the village. It is said that the Madonna saved Biccari from a devastating fire.

 

SANT’ANTONIO DA PADOVA

Celebrated on June 13, besides the religious procession, there is a fair at the homonymous convent with fireworks.

 

SAN DONATO

Biccari’s holy protector, is the most important celebration for citizens. Celebrated on August 7, consists of a big fair through Via Giardino and of a solemn procession of the Arezzo’s bishop statue and of the silver arm containing a relic. The devotion for the Saint dates from 1527 when a citizen of Biccari took part in the looting of Rome, came down in the catacombs, taking possession of the Saint’s arm bringing it to his village. During this celebration there are also evening band concerts, national artists, and fireworks.

 

BORGO VECCHIO

Gastronomic tour in the narrow streets of the medieval village followed by folk songs and dances. Celebrated on August, 12.

 

SAGRA DELLA PIZZA A FURNË APIERTË

Generally, at the end of August, Biccari’s Pro Loco organizes the Sagra in honor of the typical pizza of the village. That’s not all! Biccari organizes a rich summer program with different cultural and folk events throughout the year.
