Antonio Menichella was born in Foggia on the 1976. He works mainly in the field of visual arts. His artistic production makes use of an extensive imagination which favours the figurative art but also moves in the painting, sculpture, photography and the graphic area, underling scenarios which are devious and destabilizing, nervous and alienated, ironic and sick. The uneasiness of his art never becomes descriptive, but you can find perceptible frames of mind that include: fragility, insecurity, sensibility and instability which are the main “stars” of our contemporary “diverted” society.
From 2002 he starts participating actively in various exhibitions and national and international shows. In 2002 he exhibits his works in the renowned museum “Pino Pascali” in Polignano a Mare (BA). He has exhibited in Rome, Milan, Madrid, Naples, Bari, Trani, Frosinone, Lecco, Melfi, Lecce, Trento, Reggio Emilia, Salerno, Foggia and province. He has also collaborated with different galleries and artistic groups.
In 2008 he takes part in the recording of an episode for the television program “Adolescenti: istruzioni per l’uso” (an international format by Magnolia S.p.A. which is scheduled on Sky, Discovery Real Time and on La 7) which shows how activities in artistic laboratories are made.
In 2009 he wins the competition where he designed the logo of the “Laboratorio Urbano Bollenti Spiriti”, awarded by Guglielmo Minervini (regional councillor of the Puglia region for the active citizens).
From 2009 he begins teaching Drawing and History of arts in different Italian secondary schools.
Antonio Menichella lives and works in Biccari (FG).
